of Optum, has an immediate opening for a friendly, patient focused
and detailed oriented -Medical Receptionist to join our team. - The
Medical Receptionist is responsible for the completion of set
processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of
the care team to support the vision and mission of the
organization, deliver excellent customer service and adhere to Lean
processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical and
service goals.Work Hours: Rotating 40 hour a week shift. Monday
through Sunday. First shift is 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, second shift is
10:00 am to 6:00 pm and third shift is noon to 8:00 pm. - - Shift
is to be determined upon hire by the Practice Manager. - Rotating
weekend shifts.Location: 714 10th Street - 2nd floor, Secaucus,
NJPrimary Responsibilities:
- Greet patient when entering the practice
- Obtain accurate and updated patient information, such as name,
address, insurance information
- Perform insurance verification on the date of service
- File and maintain medical records
- Confirms and schedule appointments
- Answer telephone calls promptly and courteously
- Collects co-pays or outstanding balances on the date of
service
- Perform referral documentation promptly
- Performs certain follow-up services for patients in a prompt
and courteous manner, such as scheduling specialist appointments,
scheduling follow-up appointments and obtaining copies lab results
or specialist reports
- Adhere to the standards identified in Optum's Employee Policy
Manual
- Cooperate with other Optum employees to achieve specific team
goals
- Keep abreast on current medical requirements relevant to their
position, which includes maintaining patient confidentiality and

- High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
- 1+ year of experience working in medical front office position
performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking
patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, and
maintaining medical records
- Intermediate level of computer proficiency (multi-task through
multiple applications including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and
Word)
- Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this
role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster
doses must also comply with those state requirements. UnitedHealth
Group will adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations as
well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of
vaccination, and boosters when applicable, prior to employment to
