Job Description:

Transition CoordinatorUpper School Campus in Livingston, NJStart date September 2022 Responsible for the coordination of transition activities within a team comprised of the student, parent/guardian, educators, sending districts, and service providers, to ensure that transition activities and services are addressed and implemented for each eligible student Essential job functions:

• Facilitates transition programming (administers career skill and interest inventories, conducts career exploration activities, and provides pre-vocational programming)
• Networks with all appropriate community agencies and organizations
• Coordinates school and community work-based learning opportunities
• Coordinates After-School programs and overnight respites
• Serves as a resource to families, parents, and students in accessing transition services as well as providing information about transition topics
• 11-month position QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • NJ Dept. of Education standard Teacher of the Handicapped (TOH) certification OR standard Teacher Of Students with Disabilities (TOSD)
    • SLE certification preferred
    • Hold a valid CDL with P and S endorsements
    • Complete NJDOT physical examination, including drug screening
    • Review of driving abstract
    • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of people by speaking and writing
    • Ability to collaborate with a team of teachers, related service providers, and families
    • Possess a strong willingness to learn and actively participate in professional development
    • Contribute to a positive school climate
    • Successful experience working with teens and young adults on the autism spectrum
    • All candidates are required to complete a criminal history check and provide proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status Our school offers
