Academic Resource Center Coordinator will report to the SEEK
Academic Program Manager. The Academic Resource Center Coordinator
will be responsible for maintaining a supportive academic
environment for Brooklyn College SEEK students and staff. The
Academic Resource Center Coordinator will implement and coordinate
program learning activities including advisement in academic
resources and strategies as well as using technology in academia.
Along with the Academic Program Manager, the Academic Resource
Center Coordinator will coordinate day-to-day operations for the
SEEK Study & Learning Center.In addition to the CUNY Title
Overview, the SEEK Academic Resource Center Coordinator duties
include but are not limited to:Maintain regular contact with
students via face-to-face appointments, drop-ins, telephone, or
email.Provide basic training and support to SEEK students for
academic technologies (Blackboard, Navigate, BC Navigator, Outlook,
Zoom, etc.)Assess student needs, coordinate and schedule
skill-based workshops, including those tailored to the needs of
underserved populations.Identifies critical milestones and
transitions for students pursuing computer science or other STEM
majors and will advise students regarding all aspects of their
curriculum.Maintain a resource clearinghouse for academic-related
resources such as scholarships, career development, and
post-graduate studies at the SEEK Program.Promote student usage of
the resources at the SEEK Learning & Study Center.Assist in
training academic support staff.Other duties as assigned.Vaccine
MandateCandidates will be required to provide proof of being fully
vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption
(medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be
considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully
vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks
past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen.
Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of
employment.QUALIFICATIONSMinimumBachelor's Degree
required.PreferredFour years' experience working in Higher
Education student support.Experience working with Educational
Opportunity Programs or its population.Knowledge of CUNYFirst and
Blackboard.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.). Experience working with a
diverse student population.Strong interpersonal/human relations
skills.Excellent written and public speaking skills.Experience
assisting with programs and providing services to support student
success and retention.CUNY TITLE OVERVIEWProvides operational and
analytical support for a learning resource center.Assists in
providing academic resources such as tutoring, remedial and/or
other targeted student support services.Maintains center records
including student files; prepares reports and surveys; collects and
maintains statistical data on center activities.Assists with the
planning, scheduling and execution of training programs, lectures,
workshops, meetings and special events.Acts as a liaison to various
College offices to ensure smooth operations and quality
service.Serves as resource person for students and faculty
regarding center policies and procedures; conducts basic research
as assigned.May schedule individual and group sessions for
students.May supervise part-time and/or clerical staff; may monitor
