Press Tab to Move to Skip to Content Link Location: - New York, US Job Function: - Investment Services Public Markets Job Type: - Permanent Investment Services Public Markets (ISPM) GIC's Investment Services Public Markets (ISPM) is an integrated investment service team that uses data and emerging technologies to provide strategic and tactical services for public market investment activities. These include business strategy advisory, global execution management, asset servicing, collateral management, market data management, network management and custody control, across a spectrum of products. We are looking for a professional in ISPM's Operational Due Diligence (ODD) team to support investment teams across the Private Markets groups. Our objectives for ODD: - Augment GIC's investment due diligence efforts with consistent application of GIC risk framework, investment guidelines and market practices Avoid and mitigate reputational and operational risks from investments in public and private markets Active management and ongoing monitoring of operational risks with external fund managers This newly created role will focus on private market funds, with some exposure to public market funds. You will work with a team of 7 talented ODD professionals eager to mentor a new team member and share their knowledge. You will be provided with necessary resources and support to succeed in this role and will be part of an industry recognized ODD team. ISPM's ODD headquarters is in Singapore, with a local team in New York. Responsibilities
Functional Expertise Conduct and manage the operational due diligence for fund investments across liquid and illiquid strategies, working closely with investment due diligence teams across 11 global offices. - Review and document qualitative and quantitative assessments of fund managers' operations, controls, risks, ongoing news, and developments. Responsibilities include project management, scoping, on-site visits, service provider reviews, documentation, and reporting. A substantial part of the role involves managing external ODD resources or consultants. Monitor market and regulatory trends and developments. Identify and analyse impact and provide prompt, relevant advice to the business. Resolve issues in a professional, tactful, and timely manner. Assist or lead reviews, adaptations or improvements of processes and workflows across the team, including identifying new business requirements and capabilities. - Initiate and manage ad-hoc projects (e.g., technology adoption, framework reviews). - Requirements
Functional Expertise Excellent academics, preferably with a CPA designation. 5 to 7 years of related experience in operational due diligence (audit, accounting and back-office operations will be considered) over a broad range of strategies and jurisdictions. - Good understanding of both public and private market investment operations life cycle, processes/policies/controls/risks/best practices, valuation, global regulatory and compliance rules, investment structures. Able to multitask and manage high volume of deals and projects. - Provide constructive, pragmatic solutions, while demonstrating maturity and openness to feedback. Consider management angles in decision making. Be a strong advocate for and personally contribute to ISPM and GIC initiatives. Be a strong support for both local and global team members to accomplish overall team targets. - Willingness to participate in periodic night calls between the Singapore headquarters team and New York local team; or with fund managers in different global locations. - Occasional travel. Our compensation philosophy reflects several principles. We strive to provide a competitive compensation package to attract and retain talent globally. We pay for performance, and reward sustainable results. Total pay for this position comprises base pay and bonus. The anticipated base salary range for this role is between $121,000 and $162,000. Bonuses, which may form a meaningful proportion of the total pay package, are determined based on company and individual performance.
