Job Position: Civil Inspector

Location- JFK Airport

Salary- Negotiable (Hourly)

Job description:

A civil inspector in New York is responsible for inspecting buildings, structures, and infrastructure projects to ensure they comply with local, state, and federal regulations and codes. The job typically involves assessing the safety, durability, and quality of construction projects, as well as verifying that they are being built according to approved plans and specifications.

Some specific responsibilities of a civil inspector in New York may include:

Conducting on-site inspections of buildings, bridges, tunnels, and other infrastructure projects to ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations.

Reviewing plans, blueprints, and other construction documents to verify that they meet all applicable codes and standards.

Conducting tests and measurements on building materials, such as concrete and steel, to ensure their quality and strength.

Issuing reports and documenting findings, including identifying any defects, deficiencies, or deviations from plans and specifications.

Communicating with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to address any issues and ensure compliance with regulations.

Conducting final inspections of completed projects to ensure they meet all requirements.



Job Requirements:
Requirements:

Experience in heavy bridge and roadway construction, pile, foundation and subgrade installation, airfield pavement construction, building demolition and sitework and utility excavations and installation.

Certifications- ACI, OSHA, ICC, AWS CWI certificates

5+ years' experience in relevant field

a degree in civil engineering or a related field, as well as several years of experience in construction or a related industry.

strong understanding of local, state, and federal regulations and codes related to construction and infrastructure projects. Certification from a professional organization such as the International Code Council (ICC) may also be required.
