Job Overview:Work Schedule: 35 hours per week; Monday-Friday,
9-5pm, Regular, Full TimeLocation: Fully onsite in the Lower East
Side with some flexibility to work from home occasionallyPay Type:
$75,000 annual salary; exemptProgram Overview:You will join a

needs of Henry Street's 700 team members. We exist to serve our
team members as a resource center providing assistance and
expertise on all employment-related matters, including hiring,
onboarding, compensation & benefits, working conditions, and

prioritizes professional growth and teamwork.Job Summary:As a part
of our people team reporting to the director of people experience,
you will play a dynamic role in shaping and executing people
policies, spanning employee relations investigations, performance
management, recruitment, succession planning, career development,
payroll, benefits, and compliance. To be successful in this role,
you will need to thrive in a large and growing department within an
agency that believes in team development as a core value. There
might not be a typical day for you, so you are comfortable wearing
multiple hats and having a range of responsibilities. You bring an
eager can-do attitude to everything you
do.Responsibilities:Independently serve as lead People Team point
of contact for the Transitional & Supportive Housing & Facilities
divisions of Henry Street Settlement; administer people operations
for those divisions (i.e., new hire/termination documents,
unemployment claims, leave of absence administration, background
checks, exit interviews)Build and maintain collaborative
relationships with program leadership, meeting with them regularly
to serve as a thought partner to support people needs and navigate
complex employee relations issuesProvide strategic advice and
coaching to managers regarding program design, employee relations
practices, policies, performance management, and employment laws
with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusionSupport recruiting;
consult with hiring managers on job design and assist in
interviewing and candidate selectionManage documentation and
investigations for employee relations incidents; support employees
and managers through interpersonal and job related challenges as
neededRepresent agency values while developing and maintaining
procedures and company policies related to people/human resources
principalsQualifications:8+ years of experience in talent
management and personnel administration requiredIn depth knowledge
of city, state and federal employment lawsProven experience
navigating employee relations issues reflecting on up to date labor
laws and agency policies/valuesNon-profit experience is a mustGreat
verbal and written communication with a high degree of integrity,
accountability, and EQExcellent problem-solver with thoughtful,
data-driven approaches to challengesDemonstrated commitment to
diversity, equity, and inclusionSHRM Certification and/or an
advanced degree is a plusEssential Physical Job Functions:Able to
read, hear, sit, stoop, and stand for long periods of timeAble to
climb stairsLift office supplies or files up to 20 poundsAbility to
work onsite in the Lower East SideFully vaccinated against
COVID-19
