Job Description:

A growing manufacturer is searching for a Food Technologist with 3-5 years of related experience.RESPONSIBILITIES:Enforce HACCP, GMPs, and Safety standards throughout the facility to ensure compliance.Perform routine facility walkthroughs and communicate findings with Quality Control ManagerPerform Pre-operational, operational, and post-operational checksConduct and participate in internal and third-party audits.Review daily prerequisite food safety and quality control recordsFollow and improve quality control SOP's and prerequisite programsOversee all aspects of sanitation as per the Master Sanitation Schedule and ensure that tasks are effectively completedReport quality problems or findings to Quality Control Manager and follows up to ensure that corrective action has/will take placeAssess the product specifications and test them with customer requirements.Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all products manufactured by the plant and the raw materials, packaging materials, and operations required in the manufacturing process, including quality specifications and standards.Assists and trains production employees on work, food safety, and quality procedures as required.Performs verification on of HACCP records, prerequisite records, others relating to food safety quality control program.Monitor and approve supplier performanceHandle ATP and allergen control testingReview labels and raw materials routinely.Supervise line checkers and QC assistants to ensure timely checks and tests are being done accurately.Ensure product compliance with regulatory agencies and ensure that the company is adhering to quality standards; guide production staff about quality standards.Leads and participates in quality audits of the plant.Maintain, update and control accurate documentation of all records.Ensure that the calibration of all testing instruments are accurate and meet company standards.Participate in/or initiate Mock Recall.REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's Degree in Food Technology, Food Science or equivalent4-5 years experience in USDA facilityKnowledge of SQF, GMPs, HACCP, SOP, SSOP, Pest Control Programs, USDA & FDA regulationsKnowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and data entry software
