The Pro-QM team at Columbia University, Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL), and Stony Brook University (SBU) seeks an associate research scientist interested in quantum materials research and developing next-generation near-field microscopy techniques. The successful applicant will participate in ongoing experiments among Pro-QM teams, especially Mengkun Liu's lab at SBU and BNL, including studies of low-dimensional quantum material at the nanoscale using ultrafast and ultrabroadband infrared-THz light sources. His/Her main task will be to incorporate ultra-broadband frequency light sources into a state-of-the-art magneto-near-field-microscope to study quantum materials at extreme conditions (5 nm spatial resolution, cryogenic temperatures

At the time of starting the position, the postdoc should have a Ph. D. in Physics or a related discipline and previous experience with cryogenic measurements or optics.
