The Commissioning and Validation role provides crucial services to confirm equipment and facilities meet the design requirements and produce the expected results. If you are interested in a hands-on role with diverse responsibilities and growth opportunities, we'd be excited to hear from you.We have an immediate opening in our Buildings Commissioning/Validation group for an experienced and enthusiastic, commissioning engineer / specialist. In this role you will prepare and implements project commissioning plans for existing or new buildings in across many sectors including healthcare, education, commercial, industrial, bio-pharmaceutical, and energy ensuring that systems are designed, installed, functionally tested, and capable of being operated and maintained for performance in conformity with specifications, design intent and client requirements.Working under the guidance of senior commissioning/validation staff, you will work on a variety of projects from small installations to large complex capital projects.Your Key ResponsibilitiesPerform commissioning/validation tasks including reviewing shop drawings and equipment submittals, prepare or oversee pre-functional construction checklists and conduct functional testing and assist with construction/installation observationsReview designs, drawings, specifications of facility and equipment to understand project scope and commissioning/validation requirementsPrepare commissioning/validation plans and checklist documents adhering to specifications, plans and schedulesPrepare commissioning/validation project documents, client presentations, client contact and communication pertaining to specific project deliverablesCoordinate with other disciplines to confirm alignment with the design intentCommunicate and / or address as technical challenges are developing and initiate appropriate corrective actionsPrepare preventative maintenance manualsAttend project coordination meetingsQualificationsYour Capabilities and CredentialsExcellent organizational and time management skillsMust be self-sufficient and self-motivated with strong negotiation skillAbility to meet assignment schedule and delivery quality product under pressureStrong interpersonal skillsEducation and ExperienceBachelor's Degree Engineering with an emphasis in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering is preferred, or appropriate combination of relevant education and experienceWith a minimum of six years of related work experience or, an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed aboveThis description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.Stantec is a place where the best and brightest come to build on each other's talents, do exciting work, and make an impact on the world around us.
