Responsibilities
- Assures that the release of student
data and information complies with FERPA and safeguard all forms,
documents and information. This includes locking computers and
cabinets when not in use.
- Advises and counsels students and former students regarding
academic requirements, progress to the degree and other academic
issues. Counsel regarding appropriate options and required actions
to complete the degree. Act as liaison to faculty and chairs to
determine best and appropriate course of action. Meets with
students on a drop in, walk-in, or appointment basis throughout the
semester.
- Reviews student academic records to ensure degree requirements
have been met for graduation. Assist with the review and
distribution of diplomas. Help to build and update degree audits
within PeopleSoft
- Creates and develops professional trainings for faculty, staff
and students on PeopleSoft, EAB SSC and other software. Teach
clients appropriate use of the NYIT SIS to ensure compliance with
NYIT and federal policy (FERPA). Conduct virtual trainings, in
person classes, webinars. Trainings include goals, outcomes,
assessment and evaluation. Interface with C+M to develop web pages,
market and advertise trainings. Utilize conferencing tools for
global and virtual trainings. Design curriculum. Interface with
Institutional Research to create online evaluations. Create and
deliver internal Registrar professional development program for
registrar staff.
- Provides leadership, coordination and evaluation for one or
more assigned areas within Registrar. Use sound judgement and
critical thinking to independently resolve issues. Enforce policies
and procedures ensuring NYIT maintains compliance with state and
federal regulations including NYSED, FERPA and professional best
practices. Research and analyze policy issues in assigned area,
create policy proposals and make policy recommendations in
accordance with NYIT guidelines and state and federal regulations.
Due to significant interaction with senior faculty, deans, staff,
students and alumni demonstrate strong communication skills as well
as diplomacy and professionalism.
- Acts independently to resolve campus issues. Use judgment to
identify issues impacting NYIT's academic integrity, act in the
best interest of NYIT at all times including policy conflicts
between outside constituents and NYIT NY. Manage and oversee room
scheduling software including, solving technical issues, training
staff and faculty on appropriate use. Audits and monitors room
schedules ensuring compliance with NYIT policy. Oversee technical
implementations of software. Work in partnership with IT to
implement technical solutions.
- Prepares and analyzes Classroom Utilization reports on
scheduling to ensure compliance with Academic Affairs space
utilization policies. Conduct annual review of campus classroom
inventory. Maintains and audits the accuracy of the master
classroom database working with the Information Technology office
to maintain information.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree is required. A Master's degree is
preferred.
- A minimum of three (3) years in-depth, experience with
databases and degree audit systems and knowledge of PeopleSoft
student information system or other SIS, FERPA, and Microsoft
Office products including Word and Excel is and ability and desire
to acquire technical expertise as needed is preferred.
- Ability to be collaborative, approachable and team oriented
with mutual constituencies including faculty, students and staff in
order to build strong working relationships and a positive work
environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, as well as
work independently.
- Ability to prioritize, plan, organize, and schedule in an
efficient and productive manner with attention to detail and
meeting deadlines required.

transparency to candidates, the annual base salary range for this
position is listed. New York Tech considers factors such as (but
not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position,
candidate experience/expertise, education/training, key skills,
geographic location, internal peer equity as well as market,
organizational considerations and/or applicable collective
bargaining agreement when extending an offer.

USD $58,500.00/Yr.
