Our Internships
We are looking for passionate and motivated students who are
interested in pursuing a career in media to join our team! This
program is a paid, ten-week summer internship taking place
June-August 2024.
As an intern we want you to truly be part of the team and to make a
meaningful contribution during your time with us. Our internships
are designed to involve you, with hands-on work from day one, you
will face new challenges every day and work alongside career
professionals.

selected for interview will be contacted in December.
The Team
The FT's US editorial summer internship is an opportunity for
talented, ambitious journalists to experience and contribute to a
multimedia newsroom serving a global audience early in their
career.
The work involved will be as varied as the news agenda, but we are
looking for candidates who can be flexible enough to research and
write their own stories in consultation with news editors, assist
senior correspondents with reporting, help with curation and take
on digital projects that augment our coverage.
The schedule involves a five day working week, with the days and
hours dependent on newsroom demands. The team is in a hybrid work
environment, with the intern expected to be in the office Tuesday
through Thursday
What you'll work on
As an Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on
reporting experience. Responsibilities may include; pitching,
reporting, writing stories, conducting interviews, newsletters
curation, data reporting and carrying out research. You will also
have the opportunity to collaborate with FT staffers on special
projects as needed.
What we're looking for
A proven interest in journalism and some experience in the areas in
which the FT excels
Passion for global financial markets, companies, and economies
Knowledge of business, economics and financial markets would be an
advantage
The initiative to propose story ideas and execute them
Ability to use multiple resources and analyse documents during
research
Outstanding communication skills
Excellent organisational skills, understanding the importance of
deadlines and accuracy
Proficiency in writing and reporting across all platforms and
formats
Solid news judgement and high ethical standards

This internship is paid $16 per hour, for 40 hours per week
Monday-Friday.

How we work
Our hybrid setup means staff are expected to come into the office 3
days a week. Our New York office is located on Hudson Street
between Greenwich Village and Soho.
