Client: Well-known multi-state orthopedic specialist Title: Insurance AR Specialist Location: Great Neck, NY Office Policy: On Site 5 days a Week Pay: $28/hour + Benefits and 401(k)Job ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Director or designee, the Associate performs the daily claim follow up, denials and appeals processes. Ensures monthly AR reports are completed in a timely manner. This role serves as an internal subject matter expert on the insurance follow up and patient collections. Major Accountabilities: Contacts insurance carriers to inquire about unpaid/pending claims (Aged Outstanding Insurance Claims Report). Re-file claims to insurance vendors electronically or on paper Document actions taken in practice management system. Resolves denials, rejection and zero EOBs (explanation of benefits) from insurance carriers. Coordinate with clinicians to obtain letter of medical necessity for appeals, as necessary Submit medical records as requested for post payment review. Follow up on 90% of assigned payor accounts on monthly ATB report. Maintain maximum aging over 90 days at 20% or less of the total AR. Ensures all HIPAA regulations are adhered to. Follows company policies and procedures. Communicates effectively with other staff at outside facilities. Maintains confidentiality of patient records. Performs other duties/projects as assigned.
