About The Role:

As a CBRE Union Helper, you will perform non-technical general building maintenance, light custodial, and minor repair duties.

This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

What You'll Do:

  • Perform general labor duties and tasks as assigned.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs as assigned by Engineer under close supervision.
  • Perform shift inspections of all building areas and systems.
  • Perform housekeeping functions and maintain the professional appearance of the property, equipment, and mechanical spaces.
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
  • Follow a set procedure in the performance of repetitive tasks or job activities.
  • Impact through methods, tasks, and duties which are clearly defined and followed with little to no discretion.
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations and customer service requests as assigned.
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives as related to building operations and practice safe work habits.
  • Ability to use technology such as smart phones, tablets, computers, web-based applications, building automation systems, etc.
  • Complete all required Safety Training as scheduled.
  • Comply with Uniform Dress Code while working and maintain a neat and clean appearance while on the property at times other than working hours.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and satisfaction for all building occupants.

    What You'll Need:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual will need to perform each crucial duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.     • High School Diploma, GED, or currently enrolled in a 2 or 4-year college program or technical school.
    • At least five (5) Certificates of Fitness issued by FDNY. Preferred COFs:
    • S12 - Citywide Sprinkler Systems
    • S13 - Citywide Standpipe Systems
    • S14 - Standpipe Multi-Zone Systems
    • S15 - Water Sprinkler System
    • Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
    • Ability to develop skills to perform basic activities in own job.
    • Demonstrable ability to communicate effectively.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

      The pay range for this position is subject to an applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement. The negotiated rate for the Union Helper position is $80,912 annually [or $38.90 per hour]. Please refer to the Collective Bargaining Agreement regarding pay scale. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
