Per Diem X-Ray Technologist Job Description
NYU Langone Health is a world-class, patient-centered, integrated academic medical center, known for its excellence in clinical care, research, and education. We are seeking a skilled Per Diem X-Ray Technologist to join our team.

Job Responsibilities:

• 
  
• 
  Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  
  • 
    
  • Maintain supplies and cleanliness of space, restock supplies as needed.
    
  • Notify supervisor of any shortage of any supplies.
    
    
    
  • 
    Perform radiographic procedures
    
    • 
      
    • Perform medically prescribed radiographic procedures.
      
    • Position patient and radiographic equipment appropriate to the body part(s) to be radiographed and adjusts equipment settings accordingly to insure maximum information is obtained.
      
    • Use lead markers appropriately.
      
      
      
    • 
      Ensure patient safety and comfort
      
      • 
        
      • Explain the procedure and equipment to the patient clearly.
        
      • Answer patient questions to ensure understanding and patient satisfaction.
        
      • Provide for patient comfort before, during and after procedure, and maintains an ongoing rapport with the patient throughout the procedure to ease any anxiety the patient may have.
        
        
        
      • 
        Operate and maintain equipment
        
        • 
          
        • Demonstrate skill in equipment set-up, utilization and proper maintenance procedure.
          
        • Perform visual and manual quality control checks of X-ray equipment including monitors used for routine dictation/reading of clinical images.
          
          
          
        • 
          Document and track patient information
          
          • 
            
          • Document begin, complete and departure times, when appropriate, in the RIS.
            
          • Access patient information such as appointment times, type of exam, and patient reports.
            
            
            
          • 
            Follow hospital and departmental policies
            
            • 
              
            • Follow accepted radiologic procedures and uses medical information to determine type of protocol required for radiographic examination.
              
            • Recognize need for and follows isolation precautions.
              
              
              
              
              Minimum Qualifications:
              
              • 
                
              • Certificate from accredited School of Radiologic Technology
                
              • New York State license
                
              • Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
