Description: What to expect: The Senior Data Analyst role within
the North American Strategic Advisory group at Guy Carpenter ("GC")
provides an opportunity to play a leading role in the design,
analysis and facilitation of data-centric workstreams across
multiple innovative projects at one of the world's largest and most
respected risk management and reinsurance firms. The North American
Strategic Advisory group is responsible for providing valued,
differentiating insights to our clients around their own growth,
capital, and volatility management strategy. As a member of the
North American Strategic Advisory group, the Senior Data Analyst
will work in a leading role in cross functional groups including
actuaries, cat modelers, insurance subject matter experts, data
scientists, and stakeholders from other internal groups to design
and improve data products with the dual mandate of (1) increasing
the efficiency of the data collection and analysis process and (2)
driving the monetization of our advisory offering via newly
designed and existing products for GC's reinsurance clients. The
senior data analyst will serve in a technical role coordinating
development specifications with business leaders and interacting
with colleagues across the organization to facilitate execution on
multiple workstreams, and running analyses on various quantitative
and qualitative subjects. We will rely on you to: Play a leading
role in database design, ELT and maintenance for core business
functions. Work across data engineering, visualization and/or data
science activities by utilizing a technical background.
Interrogates, structures, and transforms client and third party to
facilitate scalable analysis. Checks data for reasonability, loads
data into software tools to construct predictive models or
visualization interfaces. Designs and maintains scripts to automate
calculations performed on client and third party data to assess a
range of business KPI's against benchmarks, providing data and
insight to support client decision making. Collects and analyzes
industry data and updates analytic tools to support advisory work
Conducts research on industry developments using range of data
sources to provide timely insight to clients around key
developments that could influence their business. Performs complex
calculations using MetaRisk, SQL, VBA, Power BI and other
programing tools to help build and update advisory tools and
conduct bespoke analysis for clients Contribute to key documents
and knowledge sharing across advisory stakeholders and business
leads Support the planning and execution of workstreams critical to
the advancement of the Strategic Advisory group's agenda, including
the formulation of new strategic initiatives Keep up-to-date on the
latest trends and innovation in the data and AI landscape and their
applications to GC's data strategy Support product management in
the prioritization of multiple workstreams handled by the group
Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and
external clients Be a trusted leader and resource for maintaining
and improving data in various cloud and on-premises data warehouses

bachelor's degree in a technical field (mathematics, engineering,
physics, Insurance, risk management, etc.) from a highly respected
institution 2+ years' experience and programming proficiency in at
least one of the following languages: Python, SQL, VBA, Microsoft
Power BI 2+ years database design, ELT and maintenance experience
Strong emphasis on a desire to learn quickly and add value to team
initiatives Good interpersonal skills for establishing and
maintaining good relationships, working well as part of a team and
for presentations and discussions Strong analytical skills and
intellectual curiosity as demonstrated through academic experience
or work assignments Excellent English verbal and writing skills for
complex communications with GC colleagues at all levels of the
organization Good ability to prioritize workload according to
volume, urgency, etc. and to deliver on required projects in a
timely fashion Desire to take ownership of proposed and assigned
