Our New York City Office is currently seeking a Plumbing Engineer
to join our multi-disciplinary team. We work on projects that are
both local and non-local ranging from large technology companies,
laboratories, healthcare, pharma, and commercial. At Arup we use
the latest design technologies and analytic methods to deliver
projects which make a real impact. Sustainability, carbon
reduction, and resilience are at the core of what we do.
- Contributing to the design of plumbing and fire protection
systems for a variety of projects such as laboratories, healthcare,
aviation, rail, higher education, and museums.
- Collaborating with mechanical and electrical teams to deliver
project designs to meet project requirements and timelines
- Undertaking and documenting engineering analysis work,
including code research, load calculations, and equipment sizing,
in a clear manner
- Performing design and calculation review to confirm the
accuracy of your work
- Documenting systems design in Revit
- Coordinating with multiple disciplines, both internal and
external and working in conjunction with project managers to help
complete each project
- Writing reports for internal and external purposes based on
- Participating in local Professional Associations
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in designing plumbing
and fire protection systems
- AutoCAD and Revit drafting experience, Revit preferred
- Preferred but not required Bachelors degree in mechanical,
civil, sanitary, environmental, or architectural engineering, or
commensurate years of experience.
- EIT / PE license
- American Society of Plumbing Engineers CPDT / CPD
- Experience designing specialty plumbing systems such as
rainwater collection, water re-use systems, and laboratory/medical
- Experience designing specialty fire protection systems such as
clean agent, deluge, dry and pre-action.
The ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work,
self-managed, and exceptional organization skills are required for
our constantly evolving environment. Strong interpersonal and
communication skills essential for team-based working. Presentation
skills with colleagues and clients of all levels.
