Job Description:
The Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Collateral Analyst works with
the commercial real estate team to provide service administrative
support relating to collateral for the credit underwriting and
ongoing credit monitoring activities, reporting to a Team Leader. -
- The CRE Collateral Analyst is the "eyes and ears" of the CRE
team, being a conduit and control point with respect to work
received from the IF Transactor and Underwriting teams and
interfaces with the CPB Client Service Organization, CPB Loan
Operations and the Investment Finance COO Team to ensure the smooth
delivery of the CRE lending product offering.KEY
RESPONSIBILITIESThe role requires good understanding and
application of bank policies and procedures in performance of the
following tasks:-
- Updating the Covenant tracking system for financial data
received, and the financial results derived from such reporting,
ensuring accuracy and consistency of data. - Save financial
reporting into respective client files in credit file system. -
Working with the Underwriters to minimize the number of past due
covenants. - As the Analyst becomes more familiar with client
relationships, the Analyst may have more direct contact with client
side in obtaining required reporting.
- Assisting the Underwriters in assembling and loading credit
packages into the CAA system for circulation for approval and
setting up facilities in the credit system.
- Ownership of the Flood insurance monitoring process and
reporting. - Responsible for submission of new flood insurance
policies for review and timely follow ups regarding renewals of
expiring flood insurance policies.
- Central point of contact for requesting appraisals, phase I
environmental reports, property condition reports and seismic
reports from Office of Chief Appraiser. - Responsible for saving
collateral documentation to credit files.
- Responsible for ordering flood zone determinations and saving
certificates to credit file. - If properties are located in a
special flood hazard area, Analyst will work with Underwriters to
secure appropriate flood insurance from client and provide all
notices to client regarding flood zone determination.
- Preparation of collateral scorecards for CRE Underwriting.
- Coordination with deal closing team and operations to
communicate appraised value and loanable values for new
advances.
- Assisting the Credit Specialists in the tracking and reporting
of transactions under the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) and
Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) rules. - Responsible for
transcribing HMDA forms into regulatory deliverable form. -
- Scanning and lodging of documents into Credit Approval
Accelerator system to maintain the electronic credit file;
preparation of Documentation Checklist and coordination of review
and approval with Bank counsel; preparation of Documentation
Transmittal Form and coordination with Documentation Unit to ensure
safe receipt and lodgement of executed credit documents.
- Support the IF Transactor and Credit Specialist in the follow
up of documentation deficiencies and insurance renewals, obtaining
deferral approvals as required, liaising with Investment Finance
COO Team and Documentation Units -
- Oversee the dissemination of credit monitoring reports
generated by Investment Finance COO Team (CA Annual Reviews, CA
Extensions, Facility Maturities, Covenants, Line Excesses,
Documentation Deficiencies and Past Due Obligations) ensuring
timely actions taken by the Underwriter teams and provide status
updates to the Manager.
- Ownership of loan modification tracking report process.
- Assist the Team Leader and other teammates with audit
preparation and coordination
- Assist the Business Manager with self-testing when required
under the Managed Control Assessment frameworkSKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience in an Analyst/Credit Administrative role
preferable
- Good working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Analyst should have a strong understanding of accounting and be
able to read and interpret financial statements. - Already having
familiarity with Citi's computer systems is preferred, but if not,
then the analyst should be adept at quickly learningCOMPETENCIES
