Role x You:The role of the Post Production Manager is to manage
delivery of video and media projects for a variety of digital,
broadcast, social and promotional products for our flagship series
Vice News Tonight. Working in conjunction with the show Post
Production Supervisor, this involves managing post production
resources - assistant editors, data operations, color and mix - for
the successful delivery of content on time and to the required
specifications. It operates in a fast paced environment and
requires keeping a close eye on outstanding support needs, reducing
lag and waste of resources, helping manage expectations, and
implementing strategic adjustments to protocols or schedules.
Importantly, you should be passionate and strive to foster an
environment that values creativity and collaborative working, as
well as a dedication to developing staff and other department
resources.Responsibilities:
- Management of primary delivery to network and ensuring
deadlines are both enforced and met
- Assigning and tracking key tasks related to edit support,
finishing and asset delivery
- Direct delegation and quality control tracking of the Post
Coordinator's tasks such as AE assignments, project communication
protocols, and other team-related maintenance tasks
- Supporting post supervision as needed with high-level delegated
tasks---
- Cultivating proactive, thorough and appropriately supportive
team communication---
- Drafting and communicating adjustments to team protocols and---
training other team members to execute---
- Onboarding and training new hires---
- Managing legal, music and archival feedback or other heads-ups
for the beginning of the online process---
- Network communication as directed by supervision (status
updates and confirmations)---
- Employee reviews and performance management where
appropriateYou have these:
- 5+ years experience in Post Production with demonstrable
knowledge of technical and delivery processes
- Comfortable handling multiple projects at a time along with an
ability to deal with changing priorities---
- Excellent communication skills in conjunction with an ability
to remain calm under pressure
- Fluency in Adobe video production workflows
- Superior knowledge of media formats, video codecs, Adobe
Creative Suite, etc---
- Proven flexibility and ability to work nights and weekends, if
required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills---
- Willingness to attend a Vice office on a hybrid basisWe want to
