Revit Designer - Midtown, NY
This position will be responsible for creating designs and
coordination models, providing and gather specifications and
executing assignments for electrical systems on commercial,
government, and other various projects. Successful candidate should
have experience in electrical design in 3D using the latest
versions of Revit as well as AutoCAD MEP.
Responsibilities:
Plan, organize and lead the Integration of projects; Represent the
company in project meetings
Manage the Revit design process of Electrical equipment
(Generators, Switchgear, UPS, etc.)
Collaborate with Team members to verify constructability and ensure
use of Best Practices
Assist with Critical Facilities Construction Project plans - size
up, costs, scheduling, timeline
Large portion of work requires a heavy knowledge of electrical and
mechanical equipment such as: medium voltage switchgear, diesel
generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers,
CRAC, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, fire detection /
suppression; building monitoring systems (BMS), building Automated
Systems, etc.
Responsible for tracking change orders, RFI's, risk review, Change
Order tracking cost, etc.
Forecasting Requirements;
Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance
standards within boundaries of company policies. Put these in clear
concise work statement for the field
Create and Maintain Detailed Project Schedules
Track milestones for regular progress measurement; Track and
forecast impacts
Ensure planning, laying out installing and wiring electrical
components are completed per drawings, specs and in accordance with
electrical code
Be the point of contact with the clients and any other contractors,
GCs involved with the project
Work with Management to respond to RFPs.
Create and Maintain Detailed Project Schedules
Oversee electrical installation of equipment
Requirements:
3-5 years of Revit a MUST
3-5 years AutoCAD electrical design experience a plus
Extensive 3-D Modeling experience a must
Experience with AutoCAD MEP and Autodesk Revit
Experience modeling electrical systems / electrical installation
drawings a huge plus, otherwise they will teach this!
BIM Experience (Building Information Modeling) a plus
Experience with UPS systems, Generators, Switchgears, and other
power distribution units a plus
Experience working with NYC Electrical and Construction Trade
Unions a plus
Previous experience either working in / or working with NYC
Electrical Union local 3 a plus
Came up ranks as a licensed journeyman electrician or relevant
experience a plus
Creating Revit designs for Electrical installation of Equipment for
high profile projects a plus
Thorough knowledge of the practices, methods, equipment, materials,
and tools of the electrical trade
Ability to manage the work of skilled workers and provide guidance
and leadership
Experience interpreting blueprints and specifications
Experience with Electrical Conduits / Power Systems such as UPS,
Switchgear, Generators, PDU's a plus
Should have a background or know what this means when conducting
electrical installations to include things like: crown box, offset
and junction box otherwise will be taught
Electrical Training Certificate or Associates in Electrical or a BS
in Electrical Engineering a plus
Previous experience in the Military / Military veterans in all
branches that have experience with Electrical / Mechanical is a
huge plus (Navy Nukes- EMN, ETN, MMNs, Seabees, Army - Power
Generation, Air Force - Power Production, Generator Techs,
Maritime, Coast Guard, etc.)
Relevant experience in Critical Facilities Construction in NYC a
plus
Client Facing /Client relationship / Client Management skills a
plus
Computer Savvy - Microsoft - Teams, Outlook, PP, Word, MS Project
(scheduling with Activities and resources, etc.), MS Excel (pivot
tables, v-lookup, graphing), Adobe / Bluebeam (editing, combining
pdfs) a MUST!
Solid Communicator - (written and verbal);
Ability to successfully work independently; Self Starter,
self-motivated, attention to detail and should prioritize well
