infrastructure. PCC has serviced the tri-state area in sewer, water
mains, roadwork, and site work for over 25 years. PCC's clients
include New York State and City agencies such as the DOT, DEP, DDC,
DPR, EDC, and SCA, among others.We are seeking a -Construction
Estimator -that has expertise in Bridge and/or Utility (GC)
Construction to join our growing team!Responsibilities:
Preparing full heavy highway civil /
bridge construction estimates thoroughly in a timely manner
including takeoff, solicitation with proper backup, and
supplementary information by using HCSS estimating software for the
site, utility, civil, and preferably bridge work.Preparing/heading
up the estimates for heavy civil construction projects up to $20
Million +/- alone and for larger and more complex jobs depending up
on their capabilities and competencies.Manage bid process and
conduct bid review.Read and review all bid RFQ and RFP
documentation to have a thorough understanding of the
project.Determining the total cost of materials, equipment,
utilities, and labor for construction projects.Perform detailed
takeoffs.Managing pre-qualification and pre-bid submissionsAnalyze
and evaluate sub/vendor quotes/offers.Communicates with subs and
suppliers to clarify pricing information. Determines the
suitability and competitive stance of subs and suppliers.Assists in
the preparation of bid proposals for submittal.Desired
Qualifications:
Minimum Overall 8 years + (field and
estimating) work experience in heavy civil construction. Min. 3- 5
years experience in estimating working for General Contractor(s) in
a variety size of utility/ site work estimates. Deeply
knowledgeable about heavy civil construction implementation and
estimating particularly for underground utility work (storm,
sanitary sewer, and water main) earthwork, and roadwork.
Experienced in and familiar with NYSDOT, NYCDDC, NYCDEP
specifications, and contracts for site and utility projects.
Local-NY or NJ. No commute problem.Estimating experience on public
works projects in New York and New Jersey is desirable.It is not
mandatory but desired to have a BS degree in civil engineering or
construction management or related.Being able to mentor and lead
less experienced estimators very efficiently. Demonstrate the
ability to lead a team for multiple projects and pursuits at any
one given time.Preferably Expert knowledge of HCSS estimating
software or willing to learn it rapidly, knowledge of creating
schedules in P6 and Microsoft Project.High time management skills
and being able to thrive under pressure. Base Salary:$115,000/yr -
$170,000/yrPCC offers a competitive salary commensurate with
