Silgan Containers is looking for a Production Planner to join our team at our Edison, NJ facility. As a Production Planner, you will be responsible for analyzing customer demand and material requirements to create a detailed and feasible production plan by work center to hand off to Operations. You will work closely with Operations to measure the success of the plan, act when the plan is at risk, and communicate any shipment concerns. What you'll do: Material Requirements Planning (MRP) in a multi-line, high-paced manufacturing facility Monitor and maintain finished product inventories to meet customer requirements Establish and coordinate the production schedules while supplying material to several external locations Monitor capacity availability/requirements and adjust the production plan/schedule Participate in physical inventories and maintain inventory control levels, FIFO policy adherence, inventory tracking and scanning Develop and publish daily, weekly, monthly, and annual line schedules Forecast and develop business models and 12-month budget processing We need you to have: High school diploma or GED 2+ years of experience with inventory management practices and accounting procedures Computer proficiency in Microsoft Outlook especially Excel Who we are: A clean, stable, environmentally conscious company The largest subsidiary of Silgan Holdings and a leading manufacturer of metal food containers in the US A company that strives toward sustainability goals by reducing our carbon footprint, selecting like-minded suppliers, and providing recyclable products Apply today!
