Church Pension Group (CPG) is a financial services firm located in Midtown Manhattan. CPG was founded in 1917 to provide pension benefits to eligible clergy of the Episcopal Church. Since then, its mission has expanded to include life and disability insurance, health benefits, property & casualty insurance, and publishing.
The Senior Business Analyst (Active Health Plans) is responsible for a wide range of functions that relate to the implementation, administration, and maintenance of CPG's health benefit plans. This position is responsible for the day-to-day plan design and policy administration functions with third-party administrators and internal stakeholders. The position requires collaboration and managing multiple priorities. This position will participate and lead projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Effective performance of the essential functions of this position requires regular in-person, on-site interaction with colleagues, both for purposes of relationship building and meaningful collaboration
Lead in the analysis, implementation and education of plan design and policy changes by evaluating member and client impact, costs, and operational impact Benchmark benefit best practices; researching industry and employment trends; tracking legislation and determining impact to CPG's health benefit plans.
Oversee and monitor third-party administrator operations, performance, communications, documents, and contracts to ensure cost effectiveness, high performance, and adherence to procedures and standards, including professionalism and prompt, accurate service to our external and internal stakeholders.
Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and key benefit program third-party administrators to draft and review benefit documentation, member communications, claims documents and plan handbooks.
Plan Administration team lead in the annual renewal, benefit plan review, change management processes, and third-party administrator performance reviews for quality and accuracy.
Responsible for implementation and education of plan design and policy changes.
Periodically review and reengineer benefit plan design and policy processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and
Employs effective relationship management and communication practices to strengthen third-party administrator and internal and external client
Coordinates communications between staff and third-party administrators to ensure knowledge of vendor websites, materials, current events, and other items impacting the day-to-day business are conveyed to all internal stakeholders.
Research and respond to inquiries from Client Services, Benefit Relationship Management, and management for escalated issue resolution for external and internal stakeholders and recommend process improvements related to escalated issues.
Coordinates with stakeholders in Benefits Policy and other areas of CBE, Corporate Communications, Web Experience, Legal, and other Business/Corporate Units on plans, products, and policies as necessary Serves as a key representative with both internal and external stakeholders, such as third-party administrators, consultants, and auditors.
Participate in developmental opportunities, reading professional publications, attending professional webinars and seminars, participating in professional organizations, participating, and reporting on employer benefit surveys.
Other duties such as ad hoc projects deemed appropriate and assigned.

Solid knowledge and understanding of defined contribution and defined benefits plans Solid knowledge and understanding of health and welfare benefits plans
Understanding of defined contribution and defined benefit retirement plan designs and administration
Knowledge and experience with the legal and regulatory environment relating to defined contribution and defined benefit plans
Understanding of vendor performance standards development, monitoring, and enforcement
Experience in analysis of benefit programs in order to participate in RFI/RFP projects
Ability to prepare management and executive summary reports
Proactively develops effective business relationships with vendors, consultants, internal staff, and key decision makers in order to facilitate plan performance and client satisfaction
Possess the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization and with external and internal stakeholders and vendors
Must be tactful, discreet, and professional in dealing with confidential/privacy matters
Intuitive sense of honesty and highest ethical standards; all actions and decisions are consistent with corporate values
Must be able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, possess strong organizational and prioritizations skills, work independently, and meet urgent deadlines
High computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
BA/BS degree preferred or combination of education and experience
8+ years of professional benefits administration and vendor management experience is required in or related to the defined contribution and defined benefit plans
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Commuting to the office, on average, three days a week. Extensive use of a computer keyboard is a demand of the position to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. Hybrid (two days working from home, three days working in a standard office environment). Salary Range: $101,800 - $132,300
