Job Description:
Plant Manager.--The Plant Manager ("PM") is responsible for the
operational functions of the plant including quality, scheduling
and costs. The PM is responsible for selecting, hiring, training,
and assigning supervisory and production personnel. The PM works
with Managers in overseeing the day-today operation of the plant
including scheduling, determining labor requirements, material
selection, shipping arrangements, production reporting and
coordination and supervision of the plant personnel
Principle--Duties & Responsibilities--Ensure plant safety through
compliance of safety standards as issued by company safety
committee Achieve compliance for product quality, food safety, and
food defense as issued by the QC Department while maintaining
overall plant efficiency Manage materials, packaging and raw
materials such that all materials are available to meet scheduling
requirements on a timely basis by working closely with purchasing
and inventory managers Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of
any nonconformities relating to product, process, or the quality
system and recommend or provide solutions to correct any
deficiencies Control further processing or delivery of
nonconforming products until the deficiency or unsatisfactory
condition has been corrected Work closely with Finance to ensure
compliance and understanding of profit and loss of plant operation
Partner with QC for compliance of food safety, product quality and
regulatory compliance of plant Foster an environment that embraces
continuous process improvement of the facility, processes and
personnel Strive for a well-trained and motivated staff through
excellent leadership and communication skills.--Coordinate with
Assistant Plant Manager and Supervisors/Line Leads to ensure
employee performance reviews are conducted, reflecting accurate
goals and performance.--Schedule and conduct plant meetings with
production and related staff Manage cost and manufacturing
components such as package material, raw ingredients, fixed and
variable labor, quality, efficiency, reliability, scrap, rework,
energy, GMPs, safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities ? Knowledge of manufacturing
systems, including BOMs, routings, capacity, work orders, inventory
control, and shop floor control ? Knowledge of GMPs, PC, HACCP,
EMP, OSHA and USDA regulations ? Bachelor's Degree in Food Science,
Management, or other closely related field ? Ability to prioritize
and meet deadlines within specified time constraints ? Superior
problem solving skills ? Excellent interpersonal and communication
skills ? Strong analytical and process management skills, including
a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and
translate them into application and operational requirement ?
Excellent organizational and planning skills, attention to detail
and thorough desire for continuous improvement ? Self-starter with
ability to work effectively in a team environment ? Bilingual in
Spanish (preferred)
