BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring Licensed Veterinary Technicians to work in our busy Surgery department at our Midtown, NY location.This position is eligible for qualified candidates with a sign-on bonus of up to $7,500.Pay: $26.50 - $51.00 / hour** Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience**We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends.*Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.For example:Mon Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.50 Shift DifferentialSat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $6.00 Shift DifferentialSat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.50 Shift DifferentialAs Surgery & Anesthesia Technician, you will:Be exposed to a rewarding and challenging caseload, including neurologic, soft tissue, orthopedic, and trauma cases.Utilize your technical abilities and skills to their fullest potential using the newest innovative anesthetic protocols, learning local blocks, and critical anesthetic management.Learn to assist in minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures.Perform anesthesia for advanced diagnostic imaging like CT, MRI and Fluoroscopy guided interventional procedures.Perform digital radiography, utilizing sedation and other restraint/positioning techniques.Use your understanding of normal patient vital signs to monitor and identify patients who are at risk for arrest.Have the opportunity to be certified in both BLS and ALS RECOVER CPR for freeProperly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.Be proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters.Drive comprehensive post operative care and facilitate post anesthetic discharges between services and clients.Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.Why BluePearl?Our passion is pets. The Continuing Education allowance can roll over up to $1,500 for CVT and VTS associates. Non-Credentialed, full-time Paraprofessionals are eligible for an annual CE stipend of $150. Full-time CVT associates also receive 8 hours of CE paid hours each year. Full-time VTS associates receive 12 hours of CE paid each year. Paid CE hours can be carried over year to year up to a maximum of 24 hours.
