This is an exciting opportunity to join Storyful's Intelligence Team at a pivotal time as the business looks to transform from a boutique offering to a market leading force in social intelligence. We are seeking a dynamic, energetic individual with a proven track record in achieving new business within the digital marketing/ research/ or management consulting industries.
The role of Sr Sales Director is to drive our sales growth across the US region in key verticals including Financial Services and Pharma, and ultimately, accelerate our business transformation to a market leading force. You will experience a challenging, energetic and rewarding work environment with significant opportunities for professional and business growth.
The Ideal Candidate:
You are an exceptional sales leader with a hunter mentality, an entrepreneurial spirit and a genuine passion for Storyful's vision to be the market leading force in social intelligence.
You thrive in a fast-paced environment and have experience in identifying, pitching, negotiating, closing, and renewing deals of all types - from initial pilot engagements to to large scale, multi-year enterprise deals. You have the ability to build an extensive list of prospects and continually manage those prospects to unlock maximum revenue opportunities.
You are a team player with the ability to collaborate with sales, marketing and other colleagues to achieve drive business development efforts.
You have more than 10 years of experience operating within digital marketing/ research/ or management consulting industries, with a proven track record in business development , client relationship nurturing and growth, and proven expertise in building C-Suite relationships.
You will also actively participate in the Storyful GTM strategy, fine tuning the approach and showing innovation to generate qualified prospects and reporting on this to keep stakeholders up-to-date of status and progress.
As a true expert in your field, you'll stay tuned to the market and competition, participating in trade events, conferences, customer forums, and then bringing input to internal teams that will help to differentiate Storyful Intelligence in the marketplace.
Responsibilities
Business Development, Sales & Revenue Performance


Develop and implement a sales plan that will meet and exceed revenue targets by prospecting, pitching and closing sales. Identify gaps in revenue and implement relevant strategies to close


Attend market presentations and prepare client negotiations, presentations and proposals for your portfolio


Manage all new business activities and deliverables from prospecting & outreach through to deal negotiation and close.


Build and maintain client relationships and ensure high levels of sales service and a customer-centric approach


Work with the Client Service & Sales Manager to maintain and develop client relationships


Collaborate closely with other teams within Storyful including Intelligence, Product, Marketing and Finance and develop relationships with News Corp business counterparts


Complete salesforce pipeline management, and deliver weekly reports (gap analysis), revenue reporting and forecasting


Strategy, Networking & Thought Leadership


Maintain awareness of competitors, monitor their activities and liaise with Intelligence stakeholders to take appropriate actions


Work with the product & marketing team to develop and enhance sales messaging and collateral


Leverage your personal network to create leads and revenue opportunities for Storyful


Provide input into Marketing to develop the most impactful, market relevant Content Calendar calendar possible and effectively leverage this in subsequent sales activity


Build a plan around event and conference attendance, including rationale and ROI--- and subsequently attend key industry conferences to build our company profile and generate leads


High Performance Sales Processes


Leverage your personal network to create leads and revenue opportunities for Storyful


Provide input into Marketing to develop the most impactful, market relevant Content Calendar calendar possible and effectively leverage this in subsequent sales activity


Build a plan around event and conference attendance, including rationale and ROI--- and subsequently attend key industry conferences to build our company profile and generate leads

Requirements


10 + years experience in a revenue-focused sales role within the digital marketing/advertising/public relations, consulting, research or social software industry, with a track record of generating new business, proven expertise in building C-Suite relationships.


An exceptional sales leader and skilled negotiator with a hunter mentality. Someone with deep experience in Consultative Selling and building trusted advisor relationships at all levels of an organization


Extremely strong understanding of and experience in the intelligence and / or research ecosystem


Ability to build an extensive list of prospects and continually manage those prospects to unlock maximum revenue opportunities


Excellent interpersonal, presentation, communication and business writing skills


Experience using a CRM system (Salesforce preferable)


Strong computer skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, Google tool-set and other cloud-based business tools


Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience favorable--


Some travel may be required
