Inside Sales & Marketing AssociateThe RoleYou will handle market
research, generating and qualifying new leads, and other marketing
and business development-related activities, playing a major part
in developing a robust pipeline of innovative microgrid projects
that are transforming the national energy landscape one project at
a time. You'll have the opportunity to learn the basics of the
microgrid industry and have room for professional growth. You will
report to our Director of Marketing and will ideally be based in
our Ridgewood, NJ headquarters.Key responsibilities will
include:
- Manage end-to-end lead generation.
- Assist in the creation of marketing outreach strategies for new
lead-generation methods.
- Create and maintain a database of current and potential
customers.
- Research target markets, build lists, and help to move leads
into the "top of the funnel".
- Become an expert at communicating Scale's value
proposition.
- Communicate with potential customers by making outbound calls
and following up on leads.
- Understand customers' needs and identify sales
opportunities.
- Answer potential customers' questions and send additional
information via email.
- Identify challenges and provide practical solutions to
prospects. Provide insights to prospect's questions as a product
knowledge specialist.
- Synthesize complex information and understand each prospect's
unique communication styles. Clearly articulate the next steps for
each prospect moving forward.
- Nurture and build new relationships with key decision-makers
with the aim of setting appointments with a senior member of the
business development team.
- Stay informed about competing products and services.
- Attend conferences and events and represent Scale's core
values.The Ideal Candidate
- 1-2 years prior Sales and/or Marketing work experience, or
relevant internships are preferred.
- Experience with prospecting platforms and CRM systems is a
plus.
- Working knowledge of the distributed energy landscape or a
desire to learn quickly and continuously expand.
- Like to be accountable for sales/productivity targets.
- Maintain a self-starter attitude and creative mindset.
- Experience with public speaking or in a previous sales-related
role.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a
productive team member.
- Ability to travel domestically (10-15%)
- Excellent problem solver and comfortable with ambiguity.
