The Trade Sales Officer is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. The successful candidate will join the North American Commercial Bank Trade Sales team which is based in any of the following regions New York, Chicago, Texas or California.This is critical senior role tasked with the development and execution of sales strategy across key customer segments and industries, with active. The individual is focused on the origination of new Trade and Working Capital opportunities among new to bank prospects and existing clients. The individual will have a deep experience with many Core Trade Products (Letters of Credit, SBLCs), Trade Loans, Receivables & Payables Finance.Excellent communication skills required to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. Primarily affects a sub-function. Responsible for handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for actively calling on clients in partnership with RMs to deepen relationships, proactively owning, responding to and anticipating future needs, challenges or risks, in addition to identifying and pursuing new clients aligned with CITI's value proposition
  • Serves as strategic advisor to RM and Client and shares knowledge with other sales consultants and junior staff
  • Coordinate internally to drive timely and flawless execution of client mandates
  • Drives innovation on the solutions we provide clients while structuring deals to balance risk and reward
  • Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure
  • Provides input on business strategy and executes on initiatives
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and Citi's policies / guidelines at all time
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.Developmental Value:The successful candidate can expect to gain exposure to the following aspects of Trade business:

      • Bachelor's degree, potentially Master's degree
      • Minimum of 8+ years of experience, including 5+ years in Trade Sales or Product Management
      • Proven track record of initiating, executing, and growing complex client relationships
