What we do:

The Markets group helps clients solve their trading, financing and liquidity needs through innovative solutions, services, market insights, industry expertise and scalable technology. We deliver foreign exchange execution, securities finance, equity and fixed income investment solutions and liquidity services. Our equity desk has the capability to offer Cash Equities, Repurchase Programs, ETF creation/redemption, brokerage and NQDCs products. This position is located in New York, NY - (Hybrid work model - requires 3 days in the office).

Team and role:

As an VP, Salesperson - Equity Sales & Trading within BNY Mellon Capital Markets LLC, you would be responsible for managing a book of clients with the responsibility to grow through existing and new business. Working closely with Trading and the Business Development teams to ensure all aspects of trading and sales are working in a coordinated fashion.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently manages and grows portfolio of clients looking for Equities execution capabilities.
  • Provide clients insight to our product offering and market insights (including Equities, ETFs, Listed Options, TRS as well as markets and macro commentary).
  • Selling ETF services (seeding, creation, rebalance, redemption, etc.) and algorithmic trading capabilities.
  • Marketing and selling BNYM Capital Market services under the bank's Broker Dealer.
  • Identifying new opportunities and expanding existing relationships, responsible for client lifecycle tasks. Incumbents are highly experienced in independently developing leads and initiating contact with prospects.
  • Covering various client segments inclusive of Asset Managers, Hedge Funds, Alternatives and Asset Owners.
  • Day-to-day client coverage and business development including product sales, managing client queries, and escalating issues.
  • Partnering with Legal, Operations, Compliance, Credit and other infrastructural partners to provide top tier client service.
  • Works closely with other divisions of the bank in driving new Equities business.
  • Provides guidance and training to team members and peers.
    The successful candidate will demonstrate/possess:
    • Proven track record of client development and acquisition within Financial Markets
    • Experience selling Cash Equities & ETFs across a large and varied client base.
    • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required, while an advanced/graduate degree preferred.
    • 5-8 years of total work experience with 3-5 years of Equities experience preferred.
    • Series 7 and 63 will be required for the role.
    • Additional applicable local/regional licenses or certifications may be required by the business.

      BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $108,000 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
      This position is at-will, and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
