Director of Sales Sales DirectorOur client is one of the world's leading internet marketing services company, providing a variety of consumer and business-focused services. With its domestic and international offices, the global marketing services span affiliate, search, mobile, lead generation, display and attribution.Position Summary:The Sales Director is responsible for achieving the sales (new client, product, and service) goals of the organization. The position is responsible for the staffing, training, management, and development of a sales force to meet or exceed client acquisition/renewal and new product quotas. This includes creating and refining policies and goals for the sales force, providing sales leadership and business expertise to bridge the gap between all functions, as well as helping to define a product that meets customer needs and market demands.This position also requires the ability to manage a department budget, work to set annual goals, and constantly monitor and report out on weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual progress to achieving targets. Monthly and quarterly forecasting is required to properly staff for service commitments and legal resources. In addition, the Sales Director is expected to work with the sales force in moving larger accounts through the sales process. Approval of all legal change requests and a review of business terms is required on all contracts to ensure proper business and legal terms are being presented to the prospective clients.The Sales Director is expected to be an expert in the Affiliate Marketing and the on-line marketing space and have a thorough knowledge of all the competition.Recruit, hire, train and retain sales forceDay to day sales management of teamWork with various leadership team members to set targets and track against them on a regular basisAchieve monthly, quarterly, and annual new merchant, product and services goalsAssist in territory development and new customer lead developmentAssist in the sales process on all large accountsAchieve corporate annual budgetary goals along with sales team goalsCoordinate with our Services team and forecast closes in order to ensure our clients are receiving the account support expectedCoordinate with Marketing to review materials and messaging in the marketplace to ensure effectivenessMonitor and manage the information flow and accuracy entered into Salesforce.comDevelop and implement initial sales training and ongoing sales training to improve product knowledge and sales skillsReport and monitor competitive activityCollaborate with management to ensure organizational success across all job functionsProvide transparency throughout the organization on progress towards targets celebrate the wins, but have a plan on how to address losses or where we fall short.Manage the interaction with the legal department, and review all LCRs to ensure proper business terms are being presented to the prospective merchant baseDevelop policies and procedures to manage the contract, credit and implementation proceduresManage the budget and ongoing forecast of the departmentContinuously review and manage the sales compensation program to ensure its competitive, rewarding the right activity, and financially in line with the goals of the organizationRequired Skills and Experience:4 year college degree5-7 years of Sales Management experienceExperience managing and motivating a team of sales professionals and sales managersA proven history of consistent quota attainment and people developmentA thorough knowledge of the internet, and online marketplaceA history of sales experience that requires consultative selling and advanced negotiation skillsExperience as not only a sales leader but an organizational leader.Experience in sales training and territory developmentStrong communication, presentation and leadership skillsThe ability to collaborate with various levels of management to accomplish individual and organizational goalsHistory of selling to Fortune 1000 accounts and Sr. level decision makersCan do attitude.
