Sales Product Specialist (API) - Informa Pharma Intelligence, New York or US East Coast

We currently have a newly created opportunity for an ambitious API Product Specialist to partner with our Account Managers/Directors and promote our solutions to the BioPharmaceutical Industry. This new role has been designed to execute our go-to market strategy to ensure maximum awareness and revenue generation within our target customers. This position would preferably be based in our New York office.

JOB PURPOSE



  • Work as an arm of the Account Management team to achieve new business targets
  • Serve as the API Sales Specialist and educate the client to the value of Informa Pharma Intelligence API and Customized Dashboard offerings and how these solutions can add value to their existing content
  • Be the "go to" person for the Sales team for API and Dashboard information
  • Carry a sales target and paid commission for performance and application usage
  • Maintain and develop wide ranging relationships within this portfolio of customers ' understanding their needs
  • Build strong internal relationships with product management; consulting; marketing; editorial and client services to ensure customer feedback is received and is actioned
  • A knack for determining the market's willingness to pay for new products and continued developments in addition to a solid understanding of data-heavy content-based informatics and information products

    SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

    Highly competent from a technical perspective with a strong track record for demonstrating solutions to technical savvy clients at top-mid tier Pharmaceutical & Biotech customers. --



    • Experience with web services and related standards such as HTTP, REST and OAUTH and development languages such as JavaScript, Python, Node.js and other API related technologies
    • 3-5 years of technical presentation skills (sales, product or customer engagement)
    • Exposure to life science industry and data domains is preferred, but not essential
    • Understanding of data integration challenges and application of ontologies and controlled vocabularies to support these processes
    • Experience in developing a deep understanding of customer data usage and visualization.
    • Knowledge of business intelligence and visual analytics tools such as Tableau, Spotfire and PowerBI
    • Familiarity with middleware, cloud and AI technologies including SQL and NOSQL data stores, AWS, big data analytics and machine learning
    • Develop a strong working relationship with customer technical teams to gain trust and credibility through your technical and subject matter knowledge
    • Ability to demonstrate and prove value of our Informatics solutions and how they can be implemented to deliver customer benefits through pre-sales product evaluations
    • Help build technical product demonstrations for potential and current customers and work with product management to define customer use cases and solutions
    • Provide technical guidance and support to customer implementation teams throughout the evaluation process leading to successful closure for all parties
    • Gather and organise technical insights related to bugs and potential new features from customers and propose improvements that feed into roadmaps that will deliver greater value to customers
    • Willing travel domestically and internationally
