globe. The Department of Radiation Oncology at Memorial Sloan
Cancer Center (MSKCC) is seeking a qualified board-certified or
board-eligible Radiation Oncologist with a subspecialty focus in
breast cancer focusing on the treatment of breast cancer patients
with radiotherapy and conducting investigation in the domain. The
ideal candidate will have a strong track record of clinical and
translational research, as well as demonstrated proficiency in
advanced radiation therapy techniques for breast cancer management.
The Breast Radiotherapy Service in the Department of Radiation
Oncology at MSKCC focuses on treating all subtypes of invasive and
in situ breast carcinomas in the primary context as well as when
these tumors recur in local, regional and metastatic contexts. The
service line is among the busiest in the department at the level of
patient visits and treatments delivered. The service has developed
a wide-ranging research portfolio of clinical, translational, and
health services studies that examine the role of radiation in the
context of all breast cancer presentations. The service also has
constructed clinical guidelines on the indications for radiation
and the optimal techniques, across the spectrum of disease
risks/presentations. The Breast Tumor Disease Site
Clinician-Investigator will provide clinical services for breast
cancer patients and engage in research activity advancing the
research mission of the service, with performance site primarily in
the Manhattan location but possibly in one of the regional sites.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Participate in the
development of clinical guidelines for the radiation treatment of
patients with primary and recurrent breast tumors Participate in
and help lead weekly chart rounds for the service and ensure a high
standard of quality for the treatment of primary and recurrent
breast tumors Work closely with the departmental Disease Site
Director to develop high-impact clinical trials that address the
unmet needs of and improve outcomes in patients with primary breast
and recurrent tumors Lead and participate in clinical trials and
research studies focused on breast cancer radiation, with a
preference for candidates whose work aligns with national
priorities in survivorship, lymphedema prevention, and
post-mastectomy reconstruction. Contribute actively to MSKCC's
academic mission through teaching, mentorship, and dissemination of
research findings in high-impact journals and scientific meetings.
Minimum Requirements : M.D., Ph.D., or equivalent doctoral degree,
with completion of specialty training in radiation oncology.
Physicians must have completed all required training and be
eligible for medical licensure in the State of New York and New
Jersey. Documented experience and training in the use of advanced
radiation modalities for breast cancer (e.g., IMRT, DIBH, proton
therapy, 3D conformal, partial breast irradiation). Record of
scholarly productivity in national and international journals, such
as the Journal of Clinical Oncology and International Journal of
Radiation Oncology, Biology and Physics, including peer-reviewed
publications, accepted abstracts, or oral/poster presentations at
scientific meetings, and experience with clinical or translational
research methodologies in breast cancer and advanced radiotherapy.
Prior teaching activity in the field of radiation oncology
involving medical students, residents, fellows, or research
trainees with documented involvement in lectures, seminars, or
structured educational programs. Demonstrated track record of
breast cancer-focused research, evidenced by peer-reviewed
publications, grant funding, or leadership roles in clinical
trials. Documented experience with pursuing research funding and
ongoing professional development, such as participation in grant
writing, clinical trials, or institutional service activities. The
position will involve 3-4 on-site days and 1-2
clinical/administrative days (on site vs. remote). The salary is
competitive for the region. Salary Range: $350,000 - $500,000

MSKCC treats approximately 11,500 patients across 7 locations, with
