to reach urbanites at scale.What is the Role?As the Benefits
Manager at Intersection, you will oversee and manage all of the
core benefit programs for Intersection including our health plans,
COBRA coverage, disability, worker's compensation, and life
insurance; while ensuring that all programs support Intersection's
strategic objectives and compliance. This position requires
proactive, strategic thinking with hands-on execution of
responsibilities. You will act as a strategic partner on wellness
and retirement solutions. Within your first month, you will:
- Build relationships within the People Operations team.
- Spend a significant amount of time learning the intricacies of
our benefits plan and administration process at Intersection
- Review qualified life event documentation and approve plan
enrollment as appropriate
- Develop and maintain relationships with our vendors, strategic
consulting partners, and work with them to communicate ongoing plan
changes.
- Coordinate employee benefits, informational workshops, and
related events.Within your first two months, you will:
- Support the administration of health and welfare plans;
including plan design, plan interpretation, leave of absence,
employee enrollment and communications
- Provide customer service for Intersection employees and assist
with any questions or concerns they might have related to their
employee benefits.
- Manage leave of absence requests and workers' compensation
claims; continuously follow up on status and employees' return to
work dates; manage documentation
- Partner closely with our Finance Team and People Operations
Team on monthly benefits reporting and ongoing forecast
changes.
- Conduct new hire orientations covering our benefit plans and
policies.Within your first three months, you will:
- Review and analyze benefits and tax procedures in order to
recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice
operations
- Assist with benefit plan and program implementations
- Be responsible for reconciling/processing all monthly benefits
invoices and partnering with accounting
- Research issues involving benefit eligibility, COBRA, and
enrollment inquiries across all of the above. Discusses and
resolves issues with benefit vendors. Provide phone and email
responses to all employees within SLAs you set, regarding benefits
inquiries.Within your first year, you will:
- Assist with strategic level plan design, contracts, rate
renewals, plan provisions and coverage, working with our consulting
partners and SVP, People Operations
- Have learned and become the subject matter expertise regarding
disability, workers' compensation, Intersection's leave policy and
any other questions related to the Company's benefit programs
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of audits.You're
great for this role because:
- You have a Bachelor's Degree preferably in Human Resources
- You have at least 3-5 years of benefits administration
experience
- You stay informed on related laws and regulations in the all
private for-profit sectors
- You are able to develop and implement controls, policies, and
procedures
- You have exceptional commitment to accuracy and detail. Strong
organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
- You are both analytical and quantitative in your approach
- You have a strong sense of teamwork and customer service
- You have clear verbal and written communication skills
- You are a proactive, enthusiastic, and solutions-oriented team
