Director of Transfer Admissions, this position is based at our Old
Westbury Campus and maybe a hybrid role in accordance with New York
Techs Remote Work Policy. -ResponsibilitiesThe Assistant Director
will report to the Associate Director of Transfer Admissions.
He/she will be responsible for the recruitment of undergraduate
transfer students to New York Tech in order to meet enrollment
goals. Specific recruitment territories will be assigned by the
direct supervisor. Recruitment responsibilities include (but are
not limited to):
- Assist in the creation and execution of a strategic transfer
enrollment management plan which includes:
- Analyzing and using data to develop a recruitment strategy for
assigned
- Participating in virtual and in-person visits to community
colleges and other recruitment events
- Coordinating in-person and virtual information
sessions/meetings with community college Transfer Out counselors in
designated recruitment territory.
- Providing prospective students with information about
transferring to New York Tech (including how the transfer credit
process works as well as clearly explaining financial aid and
scholarship opportunities) and collecting inquiry and application
information;
- Reviewing applications and academic documents to render
admission decisions;
- Assist in transfer credit evaluations including the use of TES
(Transfer Equivalency System);
- Conducting outreach to students via direct calling, written,
and email campaigns
- Participate in and support New York Tech on-campus and virtual
events including first-year, transfer, and graduate events as
needed. These include multiple weekend open houses and admitted
student events throughout the academic year.
- Maintaining a schedule for and conducting one-on-one virtual
appointments with students.Additional responsibilities include:
- Providing initial academic direction to transfer students by
reinforcing the next steps for registration/enrollment
- Assisting in the development of creative initiatives that help
support the growth of transfer enrollment (i.e.- marketing/social
media ideas, event ideas, )
- Developing a functional knowledge of other admissions areas
(i.e.- International, First Year, & Graduate) through participation
in cross training events for the purposes of attending events,
reading files and communicating with potential students, if
necessary.
- Collaboration with internal departments including Academics,
Student Engagement, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- This position will require evening and weekend work as well as
travel to recruitment events and travel to other New York Tech
campuses. (A valid drivers license is required) -
- Opportunities
- Increase knowledge of the transfer/higher education landscape
through membership in transfer specific professional
associations.
- Submit presentation ideas for conferences hosted by
professional associations.
- Cultivate and develop positive relationships with faculty, and
staff by acting as a transfer liaison.Qualifications - -
- A Bachelors degree is required; at least one year of Admissions
or higher ed experience is preferred. -
- Must have excellent communication, interpersonal,
organizational and prioritizing skills.
- Attention to detail is integral.
- Must be able to work collaboratively and independently.
- Must have knowledge of Microsoft Suite. Knowledge of Peoplesoft
or other student - information system is preferred. - -New York

range for this position is listed. New York Tech considers factors

bargaining agreement when extending an offer. Minimum SalaryUSD
$58,500.00/Yr.Maximum SalaryUSD $61,000.00/Yr.
